| Palm Canal Towers wins the ITP Middle East Facilities Management, Sustainable Initiative Award... |
On the 9th of June 2008 the inaugural Facilities Management Middle East awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Dubai. The awards were established to reward and recognise outstanding projects in the construction industry.
Nakheel was successful in winning the hotly contested category of Sustainability Initiatives, for the Palm Canal Towers Development project. The award provides recognition of efforts made by project teams to reduce carbon footprint, energy and water usage, and achieve sustainable recycling and procurement practices.
Credit was given for the development’s awarding of a LEED Gold Rating from the USGBC. This rating is one of the first received for Nakheel and within the Middle East as a whole.
The Palm Canal Towers project is currently being developed and comprises six mixed use canal-fronted towers over two sites within Madinat Al Arab, with approximately 550,000 sqm GFA.
VOS Group is proud to play an instrumental role in the design of sustainable developments such as the Palm Canal Towers.
