VOS Sustainability
At VOS, we define ecologically sustainable development as the use of resources in a manner that does not compromise the ability of future generations to use those resources. VOS Group strives to meet this objective by designing sites that minimise the demand for resources such as water, energy and materials, and providing innovative alternative supply through water reuse and on-site generation of power.
VOS engineers work closely with clients to identify solutions that achieve the most sustainable and cost effective outcome for every site. Each member of VOS Sustainability is a qualified engineer; this ensures sound design with excellent linkage to the ESD objectives of clients and other Building Services.
Team members are accredited under Green Star, ABGR and NABERS, and all services are certified under the ISO 9000 Quality Assurance system. The VOS Sustainability is complemented by VOS's in-house expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic & Fire, Vertical Transportation, Lighting, Security, Communication and Audiovisual Engineering.
Each site offers unique opportunities for resource sustainability and our engineers identify these opportunities at the earliest project stage, working in close consultation with clients. Typical steps of a sustainable project include:

|
The use of cutting edge software tools and engineering design to minimise the potable water and energy demand to world best practice |

|
Identification of innovative options for the sustainable supply of energy, water and materials |

|
Full assessment of options including capital & operating cost, risk management and regulatory compliance |

|
Compliance with relevant Rating Schemes, Standards and Regulations |

|
Ongoing resource sustainability through site commissioning, tuning, verification and consultation with asset management specialists |
VOS Group's design solutions are sustainable regarding energy, water and resource consumption, innovative with respect to of total building performance, and cost-effective in terms of initial capital cost and ongoing operation and maintenance costs. International best practice is the minimum benchmark for every project undertaken. To ensure this, VOS Group has made a commitment to become leaders in the constantly evolving field of ecologically sustainable development.
VOS Group is now also a members of the USGBC (US green building council) http://www.usgbc.org/
