Palm Canal Towers (PCT) is a 540,000m² mixed use development located within Phase 1 of the Madinat Al Arab precinct of Dubai Waterfront. This project is owned and operated by Nakheel. The project is located over 2 sites, A10-D and A1A which are located either side of the main water canal in Waterfront. Site A10-D comprises 4 high rise buildings; 2 commercial buildings, 1 residential building and the fourth building operating as a combination of hotel rooms and self contained accommodation. In addition, the podium level comprises retail outlets, F&B outlets and space for anchor tenants. Basement areas provide a common carpark together with BOH services for the whole site. Site A1A has 2 residential high rise buildings together with low level mixed use, residential/retail buildings. Basement areas provide a common carpark for the whole site. VOS Group is the ESD consultant and responsible for USGBC LEED accreditation, energy and daylight modeling, developing and implementing sustainability initiatives and also for the technical review of the MEP design to ensure compliance with energy performance targets. This project recently won the ‘Sustainability Initiative’ category in the 2008 Industry award ceremony (see appendix). |
