Streets Ice Cream |
VOS Group were commissioned by Unilever – Streets to assist in the development of the
Energy Savings Action Plans required by the NSW Department of Energy, Utilities and Sustainability. The Streets Ice Cream manufacturing facility is located at Magnum Place, Minto, which commenced operating in 1997. All the major Streets brands are manufactured at this facility, which include Magnum, Paddle Pop and Viennetta. The factory was purpose built for their complete brand of products and was designed using Unilever Global Design standards. Unilever as a global manufacturing organisation which has built and operated similar facilities throughout the world, and is experienced in designing plants to be energy efficient. VOS Group recommended several initiatives to improve the efficiency of operations and systems at the site. These included mechanical and electrical systems upgrades and installation of sensors and streamlined operations. As a result, a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions associated with site operations was achieved. |
